Given Eric Snodgrass’ extensive experience as a global weather expert, he was a perfect fit to speak at the recent InfoAg conference. As Principal Atmospheric Scientist at Agrible, Eric provides weather forecast solutions for global agriculture, which give ag users insights to make operational decisions weeks in advance. Eric held a workshop called, “Weather Data & Tools, Growing Season Weather Risks in Agriculture.” We wanted to hear more about this workshop and sat down with Eric to hear his thoughts.
Agrible’s Chief Science Officer, Paul Miller, is a finalist for the 2017 ITA CityLIGHTS, Technologist of the Year Award. The state-wide award is presented to the individual whose talent has championed true innovation, either through new applications of existing technology, or the development of technology to achieve a truly unique product or service.

ASABE, American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, is recognizing one of Agrible’s own, Michael Hirschi, Ph. D., Senior Sustainability Advisor, as a Grade of Fellow. This is ASABE’s highest honor. To be considered, a candidate must have actively worked in engineering for 20 years, and have been an active ASABE member for 20 years.

This past weekend was booming with excitement in Champaign-Urbana, where more than 13,000 students graduated from the University of Illinois. If you’re anything like us, seeing the graduates move on to their next big chapter, reminded us of our own graduation.
Kristen Sackley recently joined the Agrible Team as Director of Brand and Communications Strategy at the Champaign, Illinois headquarters. Sackley graduated from the University of Illinois in 2008, where she studied Advertising and English. She returned to complete her Masters in Business Administration in 2012.

It has been a wild spring of starts and stops in the Midwest. Growers in the corn belt have had favorable weather in mid-April, and were able to get most of the corn in the ground. Many even had time to get a few fields of soybeans planted.

Last week, Agrible’s Director of Sales, Jason Little, had the honor of speaking to agriculture students at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois. Little talked to students about his experiences at Parkland, and also touched on the work he is doing now and how Parkland helped him through his journey.

Near perfect weather conditions at the Illinois Marathon this past weekend made for a great day for the 2017 Agrible marathon relay teams Cock-A-Data-DO and Cock-A-Data-Don't. The past two years, race day has been rainy and wet, so the sunny weather and 61 degree high temperature on Saturday was a welcomed change by all runners.
