For those of you who are ready to start thinking about fall nitrogen applications, the Green Means Go campaign by Agrible and Illinois Corn Growers Association (ICGA) is back again this year!

In a recent article highlighting the continued partnership to help support responsible nitrogen applications, IL Corn “recommends proper timing of Fall N as a component of a suite of best management practices that should be tailored to each farm’s unique situation."

To help put this into action, ICGA growers have access to a 30-day free trial of Agrible’s Morning Farm Report® software—a full suite of predictive agronomic tools—using code ILCORN2017, and a county-level soil temperature map to help guide proper nitrogen applications and timing.

The map shows a color dot at the center of each county in Illinois that represents a range of temperatures:

Green: Good to go! Temperatures forecast below 50°
             Yellow: Temperatures between 50-55°
Red: Not recommended. Temperatures above 55°F

Using the 30-day free trial of Agrible’s Morning Farm Report, ICGA growers can get a more detailed look at agronomic conditions that are specific to their fields. Expanding on the map on the ICGA website, Tractor Time within a user’s Morning Farm Report account shows 14-day forecasts of soil temperatures and field conditions to help plan nitrogen applications or other operational logistics. The 14-day rainfall and temperature forecasts in Field Forecast also give growers field-specific insights when needing to plan ahead.

This partnership helps continue Agrible’s dedication to providing growers with the best possible agronomic insights that are specific to their operation to help them make the most informed decisions on the farm—in the field or on the go!
