Agrible Partners with Illinois Corn Growers Association on soil temperature maps, 90-day free upgrade of Morning Farm Report

To help support responsible nitrogen applications, Agrible has teamed up with the Illinois Corn Growers Association (ICGA) to provide growers with a 90-day free upgrade to Morning Farm Report and county-level soil temperature maps to guide nitrogen applications. Updated every Monday morning and Thursday afternoon on the ICGA website, these maps provide a soil temperature forecast for next four days from now.

According to The University of Illinois, nitrogen should not be applied until the soil temperature at 4 inches is sustainably below 50°F, and the forecast maps are designed with that in mind. Each map shows a color dot at the center of each county in Illinois that represents a range of temperatures:
Green: Good to go! Temperatures forecast below 50°
             Yellow: Temperatures between 50-55°
Red: Not recommended. Temperatures above 55°F

The soil temperatures represented are county-wide aggregates and only provide a rough first indicator of whether or not nitrogen should be applied.

Using the 90-day free upgrade to Morning Farm Report, ICGA growers can get a more detailed look at their field-specific conditions. Expanding on the maps on the ICGA website, Tractor Time in Morning Farm Report provides 14-day forecasts of soil temperatures and field conditions to help better plan nitrogen application and other operations. The rainfall and temperature 14- day forecasts in Field Forecast also show invaluable information when planning field operations.

This partnership with the ICGA continuities Agrible’s dedication to providing growers with the information they need to make the best decisions on the farm. For more information about the 90-day free upgrade or the ICGA forecast maps, please contact us
