What an unbelievable year 2015 has been for us. We are incredibly grateful to all of the friends, family, and growers who use Morning Farm Report™ for helping us get to this point. Thank you for this opportunity to partner with the agricultural community.
The year began with the launch of Morning Farm Report™, our suite of predictive analytics tools for growers. Through Morning Farm Report™’s different services—Rainfall, Field Intel, Tractor Time, and Yield Engine—growers have been making informed decisions on their farms with the best crop modeling (corn and soybean, 9 more crops coming soon!) and field-specific data out there.
We have exciting new features coming in 2016, and can’t wait to get our tools into the hands of more growers all across the continental United States.
Around that time we also launched our first mobile app: Pocket Rain Gauge™. This lets anybody find out how much it rained at their exact location in the last 24-hours. On average, we are seeing a 96% level of accuracy. This is an amazing response and we are looking forward to releasing more apps in 2016. Pocket Rain Gauge is available for both iOS and Android.
Being involved in the Champaign-Urbana community is very important to us, and in March we were honored to attend the 10th Annual Innovation Celebration hosted by the Champaign County Economic Development Corporation. We were even more honored to go home with the Entrepreneurial Excellence: New Venture Award.
In July, we were excited to announce $4.1 Million in Series A Funding led by Serra Ventures, with Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) contributing as well. This was a big step towards our growth and gave us the opportunity to expand our team, continue improving Morning Farm Report™, and develop new tools to influence the future of agriculture.
In addition to contributing to the funding round, ADM also started offering Rainfall, Field Intel, and Tractor Time, as free add-ons to ADM Crop Risk Services (CRS) customers. ADM CRS customers can also purchase a discounted Yield Engine subscription through their sales agent.
With a bigger team of incredibly talented employees, we needed a bigger office to house them all. In September, we graduated out of the EnterpriseWorks incubator and opened up our brand new office in the Research Park at the University of Illinois. A big thank you to all of the support we’ve received from Research Park.
This new, bigger office was a much needed increase in space, as the Agrible™ team quadrupled in 2015. In 2015 we hired 32 Full time employees and 20 Part-time. This amazing growth is the most noticeable when we all gather for one of our seasonal events, like our recent Fall Picnic, where we celebrated the also recent launch of Modern Prairie Woman™, a Morning Farm Report™-sponsored lifestyle blog dedicated to women in Agriculture.
On top of all that, earlier in December we announced the launch of Find My Seed™, our corn and soybean seed selector tool. We heard over and over from growers the desire for an unbiased, independent seed selector tool, so we aggregated the latest data from over 200,000 third-party seed trial plots covering over 18,000 corn and soybean varieties into an easy-to-use tool. We have had an amazing response!
We look forward to an even bigger and better 2016. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this such a great year.
