Meet the Interns - Disha Koul, Front-end Web Developer

I am a senior (in undergrad) studying Computer Science and minoring in Statistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

What are you working on at Agrible?

I’m working on front-end programming projects for the Morning Farm Report website.

What got you interested in Front End Development?

I spent most of my previous summer internship working on integrating product features into a web application. I worked a lot with API’s (including writing one and using several others) and really enjoyed working on front-end development and middleware. I get to work on all of these things at Agrible and it’s been great!

What do you hope to get out of your internship at Agrible?

I’m hoping to hone my programming skills while making a positive impact on Agrible. I appreciate that Agrible uses modern-day technology (hardware and software) to guarantee that their product is always developed with the best tools. This is exciting for me as a developer because the work is very interesting and I get to learn a lot of new technologies at the same time.

If you could have lunch with one person, living or dead, who would it be?

I would have lunch with Gayle Laakmann Mcdowell. She is the author of the book that most Computer Science students either have read or should read: Cracking the Coding Interview. She inspires me because she is an engineer and author who pursued a career and found success in a field still dominated by males today. Not only has she written several coaching books, but continues to help out her peers/students by offering advice on social media.
